Who Qualifies For Your Bursary Or University Student Loan From NSFAS?



The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has formally opened the 2025 application process.

Applications are now open and may shut on 15 December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant must meet the subsequent requirements:

• Be considered a South African citizen or copyright who arises from a home which has a combined gross domestic earnings that does not exceed R350 000 per annum.

• People with disabilities qualify if their combined residence cash flow isn't going to exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients immediately qualify for funding and want not post any proof of earnings.

*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open to all South African citizens and permanent people from households with combined R350 000 and R600 000 per annum.

Applicants are reminded to offer the correct Id Document numbers, names, and surname, as mirrored within their South African ID.

NSFAS only funds people who are learning or plan to study in my nsfas a public university or TVET college in South Africa.

All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.

Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
